Better late than never :)

 I forgot to post my collage of all of the paintings I completed during the 30 day challenge.. but better late than never!  Here it is.. It was a FUN month and I had such a great response to all of my artwork.. I've sold 4 of them thus far, and most of the rest of them are already hanging in galleries.  So thankful for this artistic life that I am blessed to be able to live. ♥♥♥

Collage of all the paintings from the 2018 30 in 30 painting challenge

The finale of every 30 in 30 includes creating a collage of all of the paintings I created during the challenge.  In the past, it would take me sometimes hours to do this, because I typically painted on a variety of sizes of canvas or panels and I had to figure out how to get them to all fit nicely .  This time around, save for one painting (the plein air I did around the middle of the challenge), I painted on all square panels or canvas.  This made it a relative snap to collage them all in a nice organized way.  I say relative because there was still finagling I had to do.  But it was much easier this time round... 

If you read my first post from this challenge, you will see that I wasn't sure how things were going to work out for me. My son was just getting over a 2 month illness, during which I had spent little or no time in my studio.  I wondered if I would be able to paint every single day... but I decided I neede to do this to push me to get up there!  Things were going great, and then, mid challenge and for a variety of reasons, we decided start my son in cyber school.  I once again wasn't sure what would happen, because I knew that my life was going to be in upheaval for awhile while he transitioned into this type of schooling. I can say this, some life difficulties are hared to work around. But if you have the will and the ideas, you can generally find the time to create.  There were days I didn't get up into my studio until after dinner and painted until 9 or 10.  I didn't care for that at all.  But I wanted complete this challenge with all 30 paintings this time so, I forced myself to do it.  I am so glad I did!  Below is the collage of all the paintings and I love seeing them all together!

And finally, credit must be given to my husband who always picks up on the chores and cooking that I can't do because I'm designing a painting or actually painting the painting... or I'm just too tired! Thanks hubby... <3

Collage of my paintings for the 30 in 30 challenge

As the last part of Leslie Saeta's 30 in 30 challenge, she asks that participating artists create a collage of all of the paintings they created.  Here is my collage!  I had a great time during this challenge and learned so much!  Plus, I am very happy that I challenged myself to paint bigger for many of the paintings. That was definitely one of my goals.  Painting 6" x 6" paintings is fun and people like them, but painting big is definitely fun and a different kind of challenge.  Seeing all of my paintings together like this is always so satisfying.... It is nice to see different themes emerge as well as the colors and palettes I used.  I hope you had fun following me!  I had one artist friend of mine tell me that she would miss seeing my work, so she challenges me to another 30 in 30!  Ha!  Well, I will be doing it again in January.  And between now and then, I know I will be painting a lot.. probably not every day though.... :) Happy October, and have a wonderful day!

Day 31 - 30 in 30 Collage of paintings

The final task for the painting challenge I took part in is to put together a collage of all of the paintings I created this month.  I love doing this as it has a lot of impact for me personally.. it is awesome to see all of them together!  I made the last collage for the September 30 in 30 into a poster and that was equally awesome to see!  I don't know if I will 'posterize' this one or not, but if I do, I'll let you know.

30 paintings in 30 days!

Well, I am so happy that I completed the challenge and actually did 30 paintings.  The last part of the challenge was to make a collage of all of the paintings completed.  I made mine using a free online program called picmonkey.  Pretty easy to use and it is pretty cool to see all of the paintings side by side.  Again, thanks to everyone for following and commenting and cheering me on!  I am so happy to be able to touch people with my art and hope that you will keep following me, cause I'm just getting started!  Have a wonderful day!

Summer Roses

So, I have been painting.  I just haven't been doing a lot of posting.  We are getting ready to go on vacation, I am busy with my garden and summer stuff, and time just seems to get away from me.  Today, I made some collages of the rose paintings I have been working on for the past few weeks.  These paintings were done from photos I took of the beautiful rose bush that is in my back yard. It blooms perfusely (sp?) in spring for about 2 weeks and then its done until mid to end of summer.
The first 4 paintings are on 6"x6" panels.  I recently ordered these panels because I know of other artists who paint on panel and wouldn't paint on anything else.  They definitely take some getting used to as they react completely differently to the brush.  The paint has to be a different consistency as well, and after painting on several of these panels, I came to realize that you must also put medium down on it first and then paint wet into wet.  Geeze.  For those of you who use oil paint, I hope this makes sense.  For those of you who don't, you may choose to disregard all of this nonsense.  Regardless, I did come up with some nice rose paintings, and well, frankly, one or two I don't like as much.  But you can't love, love, love every single painting you make now then can you.

This is pretty nice!  I went to a website called iPiccy and uploaded photos of some of my recent paintings.  This website allows you to create a collage with uploaded photos (for free!). It is nice to see my paintings side by side as it gives them continuity, and I can see my style, as it were.  These paintings were all created in late 2012 until present and most are oil, but the large, close up dog portraits are acrylic.
